Looking to help NP students obtain knowledge and to share over 20 years emergency medicine experience from the streets to the ED

My practice is both hospital and clinic. I make hospital rounds to include both consultations and admissions. I also manage an outpatient clinic population with chronic disease to include CKD, hypertension, electrolyte and acid-base disorders.

Clinic and hospital time is split so that each month consists of two weeks of clinic and two weeks of hospital rounds.

Internal Medicine/Inpatient Hospital Medicine at two campus' - one supervising physician

This is a very busy hospital practice of adult patients including ICU. Multiple (direct and Emergency Department) admissions, consults and discharges daily. Great opportunity for electronic H&P, Consult and Discharge dictation notes as well as daily progress notes, review of daily lab and radiological studies, determining appropriate diagnosis, treatment plans, medication adjustments as appropriate. My patient load ranges 8 to 20 patients per day, occasionally a fee more. Turn over rate between admission, consults and/or discharges can be zero up to of 10 per day. Learning opportunities abound.
